Ronald Flemons returns to Argos

Mississauga – The Toronto Argonauts have re-acquired DE Ronald Flemons along with a 5th Round pick in the 2011 CFL Canadian Draft from the Saskatchewan Roughriders in exchange for WR T.J. Acree, the playing rights to a negotiation list player and the Argos’ 3rd Round pick in the 2011 CFL Canadian Draft.

Commented Argonauts Head Coach Rich Stubler, “We are really excited to have Ron Flemons back as an Argo. He’s a piece of our 2007 defence that has been sorely missed. Ron is the type of player who plays hard and has a lot of fun. This is the type of player we want on our defence.”

Flemons played two seasons (2006-07) and 21 games for the Argos and was an integral part of the off-season blockbuster trade that brought Kerry Joseph to Toronto. The Texas A&M grad’s versatility allows him to play both defensive end and nose tackle.

Acree arrived in Toronto as part of an off-season deal that sent former Argos CB Jordan Younger to Edmonton. He played two pre-season games and started one regular season games for the Boatmen. He caught 2 passes for 11 yards.
