Esks bring back receiver Armstead

EDMONTON — The Edmonton Eskimos have signed import receiver/returner Jason Armstead, the club announced today.

The veteran signed last year with the Eskimos late in the season and returned his first punt of the 2010 season for a touchdown on Oct. 23.

In three games, Armstead had returned 13 punts for 149 yards and one touchdown and eight kickoffs for 139 yards. He also had one catch for six yards. 

Beginning his CFL career in 2004 with the Ottawa Renegades, the Mississippi native has played with Ottawa (’04-’05), Saskatchewan (’06-’07 and ’09), Hamilton (’07), Montreal (’08), Winnipeg (’08) and most recently Edmonton (’10).
