WINNIPEG — The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have re-signed non-import long snapper Chris Cvetkovic along with six players who ended last season on the practice roster. Import receiver Kurt Adams, import linebacker Dustin Doe, non-import receiver Cassidy Doneff, import runningback Bloi-Dei Dorzon, import linebacker Javon McKinnon and non-import offensive lineman Justin Sorensen have all signed deals with the Club.
Cvetkovic (6-1, 230, Concordia, DOB: June 28, 1977 in Burlington, Ontario) is one of the longest-serving Blue Bombers and will be entering his tenth year with the team and 11th in the CFL. He has proven to be one of the best at his craft and has played in 138 regular season games, seven playoff games and has competed for two Grey Cups. Cvetkovic has recorded 63 special teams tackles in his career.
Adams (6-4, 197, Harding, DOB: July 10, 1987 in Searcy, Arkansas) was added to the practice roster in September and came to the Blue Bombers as the record holder at Harding University for most receiving yards in a season with 1,122 yards set in 2008. Adams played in 33 games over four seasons, starting 22 of them at wide receiver, and finished his career with 116 receptions for 1,886 yards and 22 touchdowns.
Doe (6-0, 228, Florida, DOB: September 10, 1987 in Jasper, Florida) played in two games last season for the Blue Bombers, recording two defensive tackles and two special teams tackles. At Florida, Doe won two BCS National Championships and finished his collegiate career with 188 tackles, two interceptions and one sack.
Doneff (6-0, 183, Washburn, DOB: July 14, 1984 in Cochrane, Alberta) suited up in one game last season after joining the practice roster in October. He was selected by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the sixth round (41st overall) of the 2009 CFL Canadian Draft and is a former recipient of the Wally Buono Award which he won in 2008 after being named the top junior football player. Doneff also spent time with the Bielefeld Bulldogs in Germany of the American Football Club.
Dorzon (5-9, 205, Jackson State, DOB: November 23, 1984 in New Carrolton, Maryland) joined the practice roster in September after a tryout with the Tennessee Titans last summer. He transferred to Jackson State from Lackawanna Junior College in 2008 and rushed for 250 yards and two touchdowns before breaking his leg. He returned in his senior year to play in ten games, rushing 105 times for 478 yards and three touchdowns.
McKinnon (6-0, 223, Arkansas State, DOB: February 22, 1988 in Memphis, Tennessee) was signed to the practice roster in September after an outstanding collegiate career that saw him record 213 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, three forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and one 25-yard fumble return touchdown.
Sorensen (6-7, 316, South Carolina, DOB: June 8, 1986 in Parksville, British Columbia) was originally drafted by the BC Lions in the first round (fifth overall) in 2008 and saw considerable action at both guard and tackle for the Lions, suiting up for every game in 2009 and 2010 including three starts in the regular season and two starts in the playoffs. He enjoyed a successful career at South Carolina, appearing in 41 games over four years, the final 31 of which at the staring right tackle position. Sorensen was signed to the practice roster in August.
The Blue Bombers have also announced that they have released non-import punter Jamie Boreham. Boreham was acquired from Saskatchewan in October and appeared in three regular season games, the East Final and the Grey Cup.
