TORONTO — Following their final pre-season game on Tuesday, a 25-20 win over the Montreal Alouettes, the Toronto Argonauts announced the majority of their cuts heading into the 2012 regular season.
Headlining the group are 2011 starters Sean Smalls and Anthony Cannon.
Smalls, who joined the Argos in 2010, was one of the team’s starting cornerbacks last season. He finished fourth on the team in tackles with 62, while adding on a pair of special teams tackles as well.
Cannon, meanwhile, leaves Toronto after just one season wearing the Double Blue.
He originally joined the Argos as a free agent, and appeared in 14 games – six of which he started – registering 51 tackles in the process.
