REGINA — The Saskatchewan Roughriders announced Sunday that veteran defensive back Lance Frazier has been released.
Frazier, 31, was one of 22 Riders to be cut following the conclusion of training camp.
The West Virginia product spent spent all six of his CFL seasons in Saskatchewan, and has been a staple in the team’s defence since his breakout year in 2008.
He leaves Saskatchewan with an impressive resume under his belt.
Named a West Division All-Star in 2009, Frazier racked up 159 tackles, one sack, 15 interceptions, one touchdown and four fumble recoveries throughout his time with the Riders.
His most impressive campaign arrived in his All-Star year where he registered an impressive five interceptions, one touchdown and a career-high 38 tackles.
The 2011 season was the only year in which he failed to register an interception since his rookie season in 2006.
