OTTAWA – The next step in welcoming the Canadian Football League back to Ottawa has begun as the ownership group has opened up its doors for a potential new nickname for the new club.

“It’s exciting to finally be out of the gate with the campaign to nickname our soccer and football teams,” Jeff Hunt, the president of Ottawa Sports and Entertainment Group said in a statement. “Over the last several months I’ve received hundreds of name suggestions from fans, many of them very interesting possibilities, and now it’s time to document those ideas and make decisions.”

Fans can submit entries through Dec. 16 at www.NameOurTeams.com or www.NommezNosEquipes.com.

The winner will be selected after submissions are reviewed by OSEG partners, CFL/NASL executives and marketing/branding professionals hired by the teams.
