EDMONTON – The Edmonton Eskimos announced today that they have signed non-import kicker Grant Shaw to a contract extension. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Shaw, who was good on 32 of 42 field goal attempts last season, originally came over in to the Eskimos last off-season as a key piece of the trade that saw Ricky Ray shipped to Toronto.

The hometown Shaw also punted for a 46.1 yard average.

His extension is the first transaction under the reign of new general manager Ed Hervey, who was appointed earlier in the week.

Shaw earned CFL Special Teams Player of the Week honours twice in 2012 and was the Eskimo nominee for Most Outstanding Special Teams Player.
