EDMONTON — The Edmonton Eskimos announced Monday morning that Kavis Reed will not return as head coach in 2014.

“We thank Kavis for his dedication and hard work over the past three seasons and wish him the best in the future,” says Eskimos General Manager Ed Hervey.

A former green and gold defensive back (1995-99), Reed ends his coaching career in Edmonton with a 4-14 record this season and a 22-32 record overall since being named the 19th head coach of the Edmonton Eskimos on Dec. 10, 2010.

In his first season, Reed was a Canadian Football League Coach of the Year finalist after the Eskimos finished with an 11-7 record, second in the Western Division and hosted their first home playoff game since 2004.

In 2012, the Eskimos finished with a 7-11 record and lost the crossover Eastern Semi-Final to the eventual Grey Cup champion Toronto Argonauts.
