OTTAWA — The Ottawa REDBLACKS continue to make their mark on the 2014 free agency season.

Tuesday, the team announced through their Twitter account that they’ve signed free agent receivers Kierrie Johnson and Aaron Hargreaves.

Hargreaves and Johnson are the 11th and 12th receivers to join the REDBLACKS since the franchise began building its roster. They join the likes of Wallace Miles, Matt Carter, Simon Le Marquand, Limas Sweed, Jason Bruce, Carlton Mitchell, DJ Woods, Antoine Hicks, Eric Rogers and Fred Rouse.

Hargreaves, who spent his university career at Simon Fraser, arrives in Ottawa after stops in Winnipeg, Saskatchewan and Edmonton.

He last saw action in 2012 with the Roughriders, hauling in three passes for 17 yards. His best season was a year earlier as a member of the Blue Bombers, when he reeled in 30 passes for 292 yards. He has one career touchdown, a 2010 reception against the Alouettes.

Johnson, meanwhile, played one game for the Roughriders in 2013, catching three passes for 19 yards in a Sept. 14 machup against the Argonauts. He first broke into the CFL with the BC Lions in 2011, and turned some heads during the 99th Grey Cup, as he reeled in a 66-yard touchdown pass from Travis Lulay.

The following season saw Johnson break his arm and miss 10 weeks of action, allowing him to play in just six games.

More to come…
