WINNIPEG — Justin Goltz’s days with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers are over.

Monday, the team announced the release of the 26-year-old quarterback, while also announcing the acquisition of fellow QB Brian Brohm in a trade with the Tiger-Cats.

In exchange, the Ticats will receive a conditional selection in the 2015 CFL Draft.

Goltz leaves Winnipeg after spending four seasons with the Blue and Gold, completing 88-of-160 passes for 961 yards with three TDs and seven interceptions.

Brohm, meanwhile, joined the Ticats prior to last year’s mini-camp after spending time in both the NFL and UFL. He played collegiately at Louisville (2004-2007) and finished as the school’s second-leading passer with 10,775 yards.

The Louisville, KY native appeared in one exhibition game last year for Hamilton before spending the entire season on the injured list.

Brohm will likely compete with Alex Hall for the backup position in Winnipeg, as Drew Willy has already been named the team’s starter heading into training camp.
