UPDATE: 11:15 am ET

REGINA — According to the Regina Leader-Post, the Saskatchewan Roughriders are set to announce a contract extension for general manager Brendan Taman.

The Roughriders have called a press conference for 1pm ET, where it’s expected they’ll make the official announcement.

Taman is set to enter his fifth season as the team’s general manager. He is credited with constructing the team’s 101st Grey Cup championship team, the fourth title in the franchise’s history.

The 2014 season will be Taman’s 27th in the CFL. He was signed to a two-year extension by the Riders in March 2013.

Last month saw Taman ink Roughriders head coach Corey Chamblin to an extension, keeping him in Saskatchewan through the 2017 campaign.

Prior to returning to his home province of Saskatchewan to work for the Green and White, Taman spent 10 years working in the Winnipeg Blue Bomber organization, the last five of which were as the team’s General Manager and Vice-President of Football Operations.

Taman has appeared in four Grey Cup Championship games in the past seven years and over the course of his career has brought a number of noteworthy players into the CFL including Geroy Simon, Romby Bryant, Jon Ryan, and Doug Brown.
