Boatmen ink 2013 Draft pick Adjei

TORONTO — The Toronto Argonauts announced Tuesday that they has signed former CFL draft pick WR Natey Adjei, non-import LB/LS Jake Reinhart and import DB Kent Richardson.

Natey Adjei, born in Mississauga, Ontario, returns home after being drafted by the Toronto Argonauts in the third round (22nd pick overall) of the 2013 CFL Draft.

Toronto traded the 39th, 40th and 44th overall picks to Saskatchewan to grab Adjei as their 3rd pick (22nd overall). Prior to joining the Argos, he played two seasons at the University of Buffalo (2012-2013) and two years at the City College of San Francisco (2009-2010). He helped lead the CCSF team to a Northern California Conference championship and two Conference Championship wins.

Guelph, Ontario native Jake Reinhart re-joins the Argonauts after attending 2013 training camp with the club as a long snapper. He had a successful five-year football career at the University of Guelph where he was a team captain.

In 2011, he finished third in the CIS with 63 tackles, 1 sack, and 2 forced fumbles. That year, he was named Guelph’s Defensive Player of the Year and named an Academic All-Canadian. In his junior year, he was the recipient of the Gryphons’ 2010 Special Teams Award after finishing the season with 17 tackles and 3 returned kickoffs in 9 games.

Kent Richardson most recently spent time with the Philadelphia Soul (AFL) after being traded to the Jacksonville Sharks and the NFL’s Cleveland Browns. In his two-year career with the Philadelphia Soul (2011-2012), he recorded 144 total tackles, four fumbles returns and four forced fumbles.

In 2012, he was named the AFL’s Defensive Player of the Year and received the RevHoney Defensive Back of the Year when he broke the AFL record for interceptions in a season (14). He played for the Western Virginia University where he dressed in four college bowl games.
