For the future: Goossen signs with Bombers

WINNIPEG — The Winnipeg Blue Bombers today are pleased to announce the club has inked the second overall selection in the 2014 CFL Draft, offensive lineman, Matthias Goossen.

Goossen has been named a GNAC First Team All-Conference the past three seasons at Simon Fraser. Named to the conference all-star team the past two seasons, he started all 10 games in 2013 for the Clan.

He was also named a BSN Pre-Season All-American prior to the 2012 season. He played every position on the offensive line during his time at Simon Fraser, while also being the offensive line captain the past two seasons. 

In addition to playing high school football with the Vancouver College Fighting Irish, won a bronze medal at the 2010 Football Canada Cup with Team BC.

Goossen suited up for Team World at the 2012 IFAF International Bowl and helped Team World defeat Team USA for the first time ever at that event.
