HAMILTON — The Tiger-Cats will be without the services of quarterback Zach Collaros when they take on the Calgary Stampeders at McMahon Stadium this Friday.

After Sunday’s practice, Ticats head coach Kent Austin confirmed that Collaros will miss Friday’s contest due to injury and said a decision on this week’s starting quarterback will be made later in the week.

Collaros was injured during the second quarter of the Ticats week 2 loss in Edmonton.

In two games this season, Collaros has completed 23 of his 41 passes for 212 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions.

Austin also said there is no timeline for Collaros’ return. Austin says he is hopeful that Andy Fantuz, who suffered a concussion in the pre-season, will be able to play Friday.

Austin would not say whether the injury was a concussion.

“It’s a combination,” Austin said. “He had a hit to the head and his back’s hurting as well. So, I’m careful not to give exact medical opinions on everything, but he’ll be out this week for sure.”
