TORONTO – Canadian Football League fans can now add the #CFL or their favourite team’s schedule directly to their smart phone by simply tweeting #Schedule to @CFL or @CFLonTSN. Francophone fans can tweet #CalendrierLCF to @LCFca for the French version.

This new technology called CalReply Calendar Reminders enables TV networks and sports properties to provide a very useful service to fans while also driving real-time engagement and ratings by enabling fans to set calendar reminders in their smartphones by sending a Tweet.

This innovative technology was introduced in partnership with the CFL’s exclusive broadcaster TSN earlier this season. The CFL and TSN are the first sports media properties to launch this technology in North America.

“CFL fans don’t want to miss a single game. With CalReply, a simple tweet makes sure they don’t,” said Christina Litz, the CFL’s Vice President of Broadcast and Media Assets. “Further, fans who sign up get pre-set game reminders, as well as tune-in details and ticket purchase information within every calendar entry.”

“The CFL is a forward thinking league, always looking for ways to add value to their fan base,” said Brad Lindenberg, Chief Executive Officer of CalReply. “By choosing to work with CalReply, the CFL has achieved a win-win-win for all parties involved. The CalReply platform is a win for TSN as it drives TV viewership, it is a win for CFL as it drives ticket sales, and it is a win for fans as it provides them with a convenient way to follow the league schedule.”
