HAMILTON — The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced ON Thursday that they have extended the contract of international defensive end Eric Norwood.

The South Carolina product had an exceptional 2014 campaign after being sat down at the start of the season. He bounced back by recording 49 total tackles and finished tied for second (along with Edmonton’s Odell Willis and Calgary’s Shawn Lemon) in the Canadian Football League with 13 quarterback sacks.

“We’re excited to have Eric in Black and Gold for years to come, as he has been an integral part of our defence over the last two seasons and has shown he is one of the league’s premier pass rushers,” said Ticats General Manager and Head Coach Kent Austin.

Once paired up with returnee Justin Hickman, Norwood helped solidify one of the most dangerous bookends in the league.
