Riders add Kevin Francis in CFL Supplemental Draft

North Carolina A&T State University

REGINA — The Saskatchewan Roughriders have added more youth to their prospect pool, using a 2017 third round selection to acquire national receiver Kevin Francis in the CFL Supplemental Draft.

Francis, a 6-foot-5, 220-pound pass-catcher also known for his special teams play, has spent the last four seasons at North Carolina A&T where he played 34 career collegiate games, starting 10. The 23-year-old Brooklyn, N.Y. native collected 17 receptions for 163 yards and was a key contributor on special teams totaling eight tackles.

“We had a chance to see Kevin at a work out recently and I was really impressed with how he tested,” noted Riders General Manager and Head Coach Chris Jones. “He is a big kid that moves really well and has proven he is capable of exceling on special teams.”

Francis was deemed an eligible national as he was originally born in Toronto before moving to New York.
