VANCOUVER — The BC Lions have added some speed to their lineup, announcing Monday the signing of former Ticats receiver Terrell Sinkfield.

The international receiver suited up for the Argos and Ticats before most recently spending training camp with the NFL’s Minnesota Vikings.

“Terrell is an experienced and seasoned receiver who brings both skill and depth to our offence,” said Lions GM and head coach Wally Buono. “He has excellent speed which is critical to our game and he can also be a key contributor on special teams as a returner.”

The Minnesota native and University of Northern Iowa graduate enjoyed a standout campaign in Hamilton last season, hauling in 69 passes for 1,030 yards and six majors over 15 games. In addition, he racked up 132 yards on the ground, an average of 4.7 per carry, and also returned eight punts for 115 yards.

Before playing in 22 games for the Ticats from 2014 through 2015, Sinkfield began his career in Toronto, where he played in five games in 2014 before being released and signing with the Ticats.

Sinkfield’s NFL experience also includes training camp stints with Buffalo and the New York Jets

The club also announced that international defensive back Jeremy Harris has been added to the practice roster.

The Lions return to the practice field Monday as they prepare for a key West Division road tilt versus the Edmonton Eskimos on Friday night. The next BC Lions home game is Saturday, Oct. 1 versus the Ottawa REDBLACKS.

His best season came in 2013 when he caught 61 catches for 774 yards and 5 touchdowns helping the Lions to first place in the West Division.
