McDaniel sidelined by shoulder injury; will not return
CALGARY — Calgary Stampeders receiver Marquay McDaniel has been sidelined with a shoulder injury and will not return, the team confirmed during Sunday’s Grey Cup matchup in Toronto.
The injury may have been sustained in the first quarter when the Stamps’ veteran pass-catcher was tackled following a 51-yard catch-and-run, his only reception in the contest.
This season, McDaniel caught over 1000 yards – the only Stampeder receiver to do so in 2016 – and four touchdowns.
The Ottawa REDBLACKS and Calgary Stampeders remain in a tight-locked battle in the 104th Grey Cup presented by Shaw at Toronto’s BMO Field.
