REDBLACKS extend OL Rogers; DL Williams

OTTAWA — The Ottawa REDBLACKS have agreed to two-year contract extensions with offensive lineman SirVincent Rogers and defensive lineman Connor Williams, the team announced Thursday.

Neither was slated to hit free agency, which starts on Feb. 14.

Rogers, 30, completed his fourth season in the CFL and second with the Ottawa REDBLACKS after heading to the nation’s capital as a free agent in 2015. He was sidelined for the latter half of 2016, including the playoffs, with a season-ending injury.

Williams, a 25-year-old defensive end out of Utah State, became a full-time starter in 2016 and registered 18 tackles, five sacks and a forced fumble while playing in every game in 2016. Williams completed his third CFL season, all with the REDBLACKS.

Ottawa’s list of free agents can be found on the 2017 Free Agent Tracker revealed Thursday.
