Buono, Lions retain coaching staff ahead of 2017

VANCOUVER —  Wally Buono and the BC Lions announced Thursday that eight members of his coaching staff will return for the 2017 season including coordinators Mark Washington (defence), Khari Jones (offence) and Marcello Simmons (special teams).

“I am pleased to have all of these gentlemen returning to the club for 2017,” the Lions’ head coach and general manager said in a statement. “Thanks in large part to their hard work, we were significantly better on the field this past season and I believe continuity with our coaching staff will benefit the players next season.”

Other returning coaches include Dan Dorazio (offensive line), Robin Ross (defensive line), Marcel Bellefeuille (receivers), Chris Tormey (linebackers) and Mike Lionello (assistant running backs coach & quality control).
