VANCOUVER — The BC Lions have granted early free agent status to linebacker Bo Lokombo, the team announced Monday, enabling him to pursue an NFL opportunity.

According to TSN‘s Farhan Lalji, Lokombo has since signed with the NFL’s Baltimore Ravens:

Lokombo, 26, was eligible to enter free agency on Feb. 14.

“Bo is a talented and exciting player who brought an extra dimension to our defense,” said Head Coach and General Manager Wally Buono. “We wish him the best as he moves forward into the next phase of his career.”

A high-ranked prospect coming out of Oregon, Lokombo was the 21st overall pick (third round) in the 2013 CFL Draft. After returning to Oregon one more season and vying for a shot south of the border, the Zaire, Kinshasa native signed with the Lions in the fall of 2014.

In three seasons with the Lions, Lokombo recorded 44 special teams tackles and 33 defensive tackles in 43 games.

Lalji also reported on Twitter that pending free agent receiver Bryan Burnham will work out with the Cowboys on Monday.
