WINNIPEG — The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have granted international receiver Quincy McDuffie his early release, the team announced Tuesday, to allow him to pursue an NFL opportunity.

According to player agent Brett Tessler, McDuffie worked out for the Dallas Cowboys earlier on Tuesday.

McDuffie was scheduled to be a free agent next month on Feb. 14.

Last season, the 26-year-old Orlando, Fla. native averaged 27.7 yards per return on kickoffs and 12.6 yards on punt returns. He also added 241 receiving yards on 23 catches in 13 games.

He is the 29th-ranked player on CFL.ca’s Top 30 Pending Free Agents.
