MONTREAL — The Montreal Alouettes have brought back international kicker Boris Bede, announcing Tuesday the two sides have agreed on a one-year deal.
Bede will put on the Alouettes uniform for a third consecutive year in 2017. He has suited up for 28 regular season games in his young professional career.
The 27-year-old kicker earned the Most Outstanding Rookie honour for the Alouettes in 2015, becoming quickly an elite player of the league. That same year, Boris made an impressive total of 36 of his 40 field goal attempts (90 per cent) which put him second in the CFL, while rewriting the Alouettes record book at the same time.

He also dominated on kickoffs with an average of 65.2 yards per kick.
“I had the chance to oversee and participate in Boris’ development since he joined our organization. I believe that he has the potential to become an elite multidimensional kicker in this league”, commented the Alouettes’ general manager Kavis Reed. “He possesses an extremely powerful leg, and we hope he develops himself to become an impactful player and a key contributor for our special teams unit.”
Bede experienced successful moments throughout his entire college career in Quebec suiting up for five years with the Laval University Rouge et Or. The Toulon, France native was part of the championship winning teams that lifted the Vanier Cup in 2012 and 2013. He quickly became one of the top kickers in the country as he was named to the RSEQ All-Star team in 2012, 2013, and 2014.
