Argos bolster Canadian content; add Webster

TORONTO — The Toronto Argonauts continue to add to their Canadian content, announcing on Friday the addition of defensive back Matt Webster.

Webster, a 5-foot-11, 195-pound native of Calgary, spent the last three seasons with the Saskatchewan Roughriders, who selected him in the fifth round (39th overall) in the 2014 CFL Draft.

In 36 career CFL games, the 24-year-old has registered 32 defensive tackles and 21 special teams tackles. He saw his most productive CFL season come in 2015 when he registered 21 defensive tackles and nine special teams tackles in 17 games.

The Queen’s University product notched 82.5 tackles, four interceptions, eight pass breakups, one forced fumble and a fumble recovery with the Gaels.
