OTTAWA — The Ottawa REDBLACKS re-signed national receiver Scott Macdonell to a one-year extension, the club announced on Wednesday.

Macdonell returns for a fourth season with the REDBLACKS after being selected by the club in the second round of the 2014 CFL Draft.

“Scott has been here since Day 1 and we’re happy to be bringing him back for another season,” said REDBLACKS General Manager Marcel Desjardins. “He’s played a big role for us on special teams and is an important piece of our Canadian depth.”

The Montreal native played 16 games for the REDBLACKS in his rookie season, collecting 13 receptions for 181 yards and one touchdown. His role transitioned from receiving to special teams in 2015 and in 2016 – where he and his team won the 104th Grey Cup presented by Shaw.
