Stampeders offensive lineman Ben Archibald was named CFL Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman.

Archibald anchored the offensive line for a Stampeder team that surrendered the second fewest sacks (30) and ranked first in rushing yards per game (145.4).

Archibald was a finalist for the top lineman award last year. He is in his third CFL season out of Brigham Young University and has been a CFL All-Star each of the last two seasons.

"This means alot to me individually," Archibald said. "But it's also nice to have this recognition for our offence."

He also thanked his wife for allowing him to live his dream as a professional football player while she looked after their triplets at home.

Archibald received 36 first place votes to beat out Hamilton centre Marwan Hage for the award.

The 2010 Gibson's Finest CFL Player Awards were presented in Edmonton on Thursday night.
