TORONTO -- With Chad Owens having just set a new pro-football high for combined yards, Argonauts.ca takes a look at a few Argonauts that have individual records in their sights heading into the final two games of the season.

CORY BOYD

The second-year tailback is only 55 yards away from another 1,000-yard season on the ground.  An impressive mark but Boyd will likely be the fourth 1000-yard rusher in the CFL come season’s end. What is truly noteworthy is that should he reach the mark, he will become the just the second running back in club history to record 1,000 yards rushing in back-to-back seasons (Michael Jenkins first did it in 2000 & 2001).

He has a long way to go to catch greats such as Bill Symons, Joe Krol, Dick Shatto and company in career yardage gained, but he would be in an elite Double Blue group if he were to have consecutive campaigns of at least 1,000 yards in each.

NOEL PREFONTAINE

Argoanuts P/K Noel Prefontaine is looking to enter a unique page of the CFL record books.  After hitting a field goal and converting three PAT’s Friday against Edmonton, the veteran is only 15 points away from recording 1,500 points for his career. In doing so, he will pass former Argos great Lance Chomyc on the club's all-time scoring list.

BYRON PARKER

The ball-hawking Argos corner is currently sitting in a place where the next errant throw could very well put him alone in CFL immortality.  Should Parker intercept another pass and return it for a major, he will leapfrog Dick Thornton, Malcolm Frank and Jason Goss as the CFL’s all-time leader in interception return touchdowns with nine.

JEREMAINE COPELAND

The magic number is 33 for Jeremaine Copeland as he aims to become the 15th player in CFL history to record 10,000 yards in a career. In 11 seasons, nearly two with Toronto, Copeland has amassed 619 catches, averaged 16.1 yards per reception and recorded 75 touchdowns.

Former Argos slotback Arland Bruce lll became the most recent receiver to reach 10,000 this past weekend, doing so while a member of Winnipeg, Toronto, Hamilton and BC.

CHAD OWENS

The legend of Chad Owens continues to grow rapidly. The Flyin' Hawiian is just 135 yards from setting a new CFL record for kickoff return yards in a season, ahead of Ian Smart's (B.C. Lions) 2008 season when he tallied 1,805 kickoff return yards. He has already set the Argos' record in this category and, like most things this season, is ready for bigger things. Owens enters the week with 1,671 kickoff return yards.
