TORONTO -- Toronto Argonaut kicker Justin Medlock connected on a 52-yard field goal in the third quarter against the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Saturday afternoon. The kick marked his second 50+ field goal since returning to the Argonauts mid-season.
In his first game back with Toronto, Medlock showed no signs of rust as he split the uprights on a 50-yard field goal during the third quarter of the Argonats' win over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
Medlock was good on 40 of 47 field goal attempts a season ago.
If Medlock was randomly selected after entering the Wendy’s Kick for a Million contest and wasn’t a professional CFL kicker, he would certainly be in a great position to become the second contestant (See Brian Diesbourg, circa 2005) to win the million dollar prize for nailing a 50-yard field goal.
This year's contest takes place during a live half-time show at the Rogers Centre in Toronto on Friday October 15 where one kicker has the chance to kick his way to one million dollars and fifteen minutes of fame!
