Argos release kicker Medlock

TORONTO -- The Toronto Argonauts Football Club announced today that kicker Justin Medlock has been released.
Medlock joined the Argonauts as a free agent before the 2009 season and played 17 regular season games. He connected on 87% (40 of 46) of his field goal attempts, had 79 kickoffs for 4,764 yards (AVG 60.3) and punted 120 times for 5,076 yards (AVG 42.3).
He exercised the option year of his contract to join the NFL’s Washington Redskins on February 12 , 2010 and later signed with the Detroit Lions.
In 2009, he was named the Argos’ Outstanding Special Teams Player, Special Teams Player of the Week during CFL Week 7 and Special Teams Player of the Month in August.
