TORONTO -- The Toronto Argonauts announced that they released veteran defensive end Ronald Flemons today after seven seasons with the club.

Flemons originally joined the Boatmen in 2006 as a free agent and spent all but one game as a member of the Double Blue.  The Texas A&M product spent a short period of time with the Saskatchewan Roughriders after being dealt as a piece of the Kerry Joseph trade 2008.  The Argonauts re-acquired the lineman shortly thereafter.

“Ron has been an important member of our team since I arrived in Toronto, and we’d like to thank him for his effort and professionalism", said Argos GM Jim Barker. "These kinds of football decisions are difficult but this move doesn’t mean his time in Double Blue won’t come again. We wish him continued success in the future.”

The San Anthonio, Texas native amassed 182 defensive tackles, 4 special teams tackles and 26 quarterback sacks to go with 5 fumble recoveries along Toronto's defensive line.

I just wish the teams would quit releasing players only to re-sign them a few days later only to re-release them again. That is the problem with the league. They are always on the fence, and that is frustrating. Just resign or release them, period. If I were a player, and they released me; I will not re-sign with the team that released me because I would not be able to trust them to keep me.

sorry, no disrespect, but we are not talking about getting our feelings hurt, cuz we were picked last on the school yard. They get paid to come back.
