Mississauga (CFL.ca) - The Toronto Argonauts have signed their first pick in the 2008 CFL Canadian Draft, Toronto-native WR Mike Bradwell.

Commented Mike Bradwell on signing his first contract, “I’m happy to sign my first contract and take the initial step toward becoming a pro-football player. It’s a dream come true to sign with my hometown Argos; I couldn’t have written a better script. Now I can’t wait for start of training camp.”

Bradwell, who was selected in the 2nd Round, 13th overall, in last week’s CFL Canadian Draft was a First-Team All-Canadian after leading the CIS in receiving yards (958) and setting McMaster’s all-time school record for receptions in a season with 53 in 2007. He played three seasons for the Marauders after joining the team in his sophomore season. Bradwell attended Leaside High School in Toronto where he was a multi-sport athlete who also excelled in hockey.
