VANCOUVER -- The BC Lions announced Thursday that as of 1:00 pm PT, import linebacker Solomon Elimimian has returned to the team.

Under the conditions of his contract with the Lions, Elimimian now enters the option year of his original agreement.

In keeping with CFL roster rules, the Lions now have five days to make a decision on the playing status of Elimimian, but he will not attend practice Friday at BC Place or be in uniform on Saturday.

“We’re pleased to have Solomon back, but our immediate focus as a team right now is the game against the Toronto Argonauts,” said Lions VP, football operations and GM Wally Buono.

“We have asked Solomon to join us on the sidelines on Saturday and we will make him available to the media prior to the game.”

Last season, Elimimian played an integral role in BC's Grey Cup run, leading the team in tackles in with 98, while adding on four sacks and two interceptions as well.

The 25-year-old has now enters his third season with the Lions, and joins a linebacking corps that already features the likes of Adam Bighill, Anton McKenzie and Anthony Reddick.

During his two seasons with the Lions, Elimimian has registered 175 tackles, nine sacks and two interceptions.
