2014 Draft: 6th Overall Pick - Devon Bailey

EDMONTON – Devon Bailey, the top-ranked receiver in the 2014 CFL Draft class, is heading to Edmonton Eskimos.

The Esks selected the St. Francis Xavier product with the sixth overall pick in the first round of the Draft.

“It’s seems unanimous among scouts that Bailey is the top receiver in the 2014 class,” said CIS Insider Justin Dunk. “He has a lot of special traits scouts look for in a high-end pass catching prospect.”

Bailey ran a 4.623 40-yard dash at the CFL Combine, and pushed out 15 reps on the bench press, proving to scouts that there should be no concerns over his reputation of having a bad work ethic.

In 2013, Bailey hauled in 36 passes for 532 yards and five touchdowns in eight games with the X-Men.

The six-foot-five, 202-pound Mississauga, ON native will join a receiving corps that already contains Fred Stamps and Adarius Bowman.
