TORONTO -- The Toronto Argonauts announced Thursday that non-import WR Spencer Watt has avoided free agency and signed with the club through the 2014 season.
"Spencer just finished his third CFL season and he’s still only 24 years old. He is an athletic, young Canadian receiver and we believe he played his best football during the second half of last season. We expect that he’ll continue to grow and develop into a top receiver in this league and we’re excited to have him in Toronto for the future,” said Argos GM Jim Barker.
In 17 games this season, the North Vancouver native caught 34 passes for 424 yards; both were career highs. In three seasons as an Argonaut, Watt has hauled in 77 receptions for 970 yards and three (3) touchdowns.
