WINNIPEG -- The Winnipeg Football Club is pleased to announce that Jim Bell has been named Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer effective immediately.
Bell spent the past two years as the Club’s President.
“Jim is a very valuable asset to this organization and someone who has done a great job at promoting our brand throughout the province,” said President and CEO, Garth Buchko.
“I look forward to working with him in this role which he will bring a lot of determination and dedication to. His experience and knowledge of our business will be a tremendous resource for not only me but to our entire organization.”
“I am very excited about my new role with the Football Club,” said Bell. “I look forward to strengthening the relationships I’ve built in the business community and continuing to work hard to ensure the best for this organization.”
In this new role of Vice President and COO, Bell will continue to manage the Club’s day-to-day operations while working closely with Mr. Buchko in managing all of the Bombers’ business operations.
He will also continue to be heavily involved in the transition to Investors Group Field this spring and summer. Bell has been with the Football Club since 2002 when he was hired as Director of Finance before being promoted to Vice President of Finance and Administration in 2006.
He was named interim President in December of 2009 and took over the job permanently in February of 2010.
