WINNIPEG -- The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have released quarterback Kevin Glenn.
Glenn was acquired prior to the 2004 season in a trade with the Toronto Argonauts, who had received the pivot earlier the same day from the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
Glenn emerged as one of the CFL’s top quarterbacks in 2007. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers’ pivot led the league in passing yardage (5,114 yards), pass completions (388) and pass attempts (621) en route to being named the East Division nominee for the CFL Most Outstanding Player Award.
Glenn completed 19-of-31 passes for 161 yards and one TD in a 24-22 win over the Montreal Alouettes in the East Division Semi-final, an d was 15-of-21 for 201 yards and one TD in a 19-9 win over the Toronto Argonauts in the East Final. His season came to a screeching halt late in that win over the Argos when he suffered a broken left arm that sidelined him for the 2007 Grey Cup.
Glenn played four years of college football for the Illinois State Redbirds and set 25 school records during his time there.
