TORONTO -- With 28 catches for 401 yards so far this season, Geroy Simon is now just one reception away from breaking Ben Cahoon's all-time receptions mark.

His 100-yard game earlier this season was the 63rd of his career which puts him just one back of all-time leader Allen Pitts who had 64 from 1990 to 2000. Here is a brief breakdown of Geroy’s fabulous career with some interesting highlights:

His first catch came in his second career CFL game after being blanked in his debut on July 8, 1999. It came on July 22, 1999 for Winnipeg from Kerwin Bell and gained exactly zero yards. He caught 8 passes for 57 yards that day.

He has caught 998 passes from 17 different QBs across 15 seasons with the most coming from Dave Dickenson. The Dickenson-Simon connection accounts for 221 completions for 3,690 yards and 30 TDs.

Among his 103 career receiving TDs, they have come from 12 different quarterbacks with Casey Printers next at 18 TD strikes. Printers has had the highest average per catch connection with Geroy at 17.0 yards per completion.

Here are Geroy's stats broken down by quarterbacks:

Weston Dressler is by far the best receiver the Riders have in their corp. The others are average as far receivers in the CFL goes. Simon is over the hill but his hands are still good. The beefed up security for Durant in this Grey Cup year allows him more time to find these guys.

It seems some hall of fame players will be retiring probably at the end of this year and they will be missed like Geroy Simon and AC and maybe Arland Bruce. What a class act all of them and if they all retire I hope they get all there inductions next year.

Best of luck for the remainder of your career Geroy, a class act all the way.
Will Geroy sign a one day contract with the Lions at the end of his journey so he can retire a Lion, I think likely.

Great to see legends like Simon breaking some milestones. Even as a Rider fan it would almost be nice for him to be a Lion when he breaks these records.
