TORONTO -- Following the team’s practice in preparation for Sunday’s Eastern Semi-Final at Rogers Centre, the Toronto Argonauts officially announced that it has extended the contract of Head Coach Scott Milanovich.
“We are very excited to get this extension finalized to ensure that Scott Milanovich will be our head coach for the long-term. He is one of the brightest young coaches I’ve ever been around and he commands respect from the players in the locker room. I know he will prepare this team to be a Grey Cup contender every year. I’m confident he will continue to grow from the experience he’s gained this season to become one of the great coaches in the Canadian Football League,” said Argos GM Jim Barker.
On December 1, 2011, Milanovich was named the 42nd Head Coach in the Argonauts’ 139 years of history. He promptly led his team to a second place finish in the East Division and to its first playoff appearance since 2010, and the Argos’ first home playoff game since 2007.
In just one season since Milanovich took over, the team has experienced significant improvements in nearly every offensive and defensive category. Most
