QUEBEC CITY -- For the first time ever, the Canadian Football League is hosting two regional combines in addition to the Toronto combine held every year in advance of the CFL Draft.

The first Regional Combine took place on Monday at the Commonwealth Stadium Fieldhouse in Edmonton with two prospects – Michael Klassen and Jermaine Gabriel – earning an invite to Toronto on Friday.
Wednesday marks the second regional event at Stade TELUS-Université Laval in Quebec City.

As part of our ongoing coverage leading into the 2013 CFL Combine, will continue to provide up-to-the-minute stats, headlines, videos and more from the second workout leading to the main Combine in Toronto this weekend.

By the Numbers:
Of the 30 attendees, the defensive back and receiver position lays claim to the most participants with nine each.

Nineteen of the players remain draft eligible which means that they could earn a last minute invite to Toronto should their performance warrant it.  The other 11 will look to earn a free agent contract from one of the eight CFL clubs come training camp.

Bishop’s University will be the most represented school with a total of seven players looking to gain an invite to the Toronto Combine.  Saint Mary’s is the next in line with five players looking to showcase their talents in Quebec City.

Of those Saint Mary’s reps, four are receivers as Damone Blackman, Carl Fitzgerald, Jahmeek Taylor and Kevin Withrich will all look to showcase their skills as pass-catchers on Wednesday.

The Lone Pivot
With so many DB’s and WR’s, there will be only one quarterback testing his arm at the camp and that exclusive job belongs to Bishop’s signal-caller Jordan Heather.  Heather finished 10th in CIS passing last season with 2,163 yards in nine games.
