TORONTO -- University of Windsor receiver Jordan Brescacin has all the means needed to succeed at the professional level.
Standing tall at six-foot-four, 195-pounds, Brescacin has the size, but according to the Tecumseh, Ont. native, there’s something else giving him an advantage on the field.
“I think I use I my intelligence to kind of work my way around people,” said Brescacin at CFL Evaluation Camp presented by Reebok in early March.
The 22-year old put both his brains and brawn on full display for CFL scouts and coaches alike during testing at E-Camp, running a solid 4.67 in the 40-yard dash, while leaping 34.5” in the vertical jump testing.
However, Brescacin only managed to register six reps on the bench press, the second lowest total among all those who participated in the event.
Brescacin knows that he’ll have to improve on his strength in order to be a effective asset in the CFL.
“I just have to continue to get bigger and stronger, the physical aspect of it is something that I have to work on and get better at,” he said.
Whatever strength disadvantage Brescacin may have, it certainly did not reflect in his on-field numbers during the 2011 season.
In eight games with the Lancers, Brescacin registered 773 yards on 50 receptions, averaging 96.6 yards per game. He also finished tied for second in the country in receiving touchdowns with seven.
What’s next for Brescacin? Find out on May 3 during the 2012 CFL Canadian Draft.
