TORONTO -- Harvard wide receiver Marco Iannuzzi will enter the CFL Canadian Draft on May 8 as the ninth rated prospect on CFL Amateur Scouting Bureau’s list of top prospects.

The speedy receiver relishes the chance to help his team with big plays.

“I’m a receiver and a kick returner – my position is tailored to making big plays,” Iannuzzi said. “Your time may only come once a game, it may come twice a game or it may not come at all. But when it comes you had better be ready.”

He leaves Harvard as the school’s top all time returner, averaging 34.5 yards per return. In his final year he set a single season record, averaging 26.5 yards per return, and is the only player in Harvard history to return two kickoffs for a touchdown in one season.

Iannuzzi’s draft stock really shot up after a solid performance at the CFL’s Evaluation Camp in March. Despite playing his college ball south of the border Iannuzzi showed scouts he hasn’t lost his abilities on a Canadian field catching the ball naturally in drills.

“I have been taught really well and I guess fundamentals just sort of ground into my brain,” said Iannuzzi. “I think I showed them what I could do.”
