EDMONTON -- The Edmonton Eskimos have released non-import defensive back Elliott Richardson and rookie kicker Chris Bodnar, the club announced today.

Signed as a free agent in 2009, Richardson played in 23 games in two seasons with Edmonton, recording 42 defensive tackles and two interceptions, both of them vs. Toronto (09/26 at Moncton).

The former Acadia standout was named Gibson’s Finest Canadian Player and Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in the inaugural Touchdown Atlantic game.

Bodnar was a 2010 Canada West All-Star with the University of Regina.
