Former Argo OL St. John to be honoured

TORONTO -- Toronto Argonauts alumnus Jude St. John has been named as an inductee to the 2010 Wall of Champions, The University of Western Ontario Mustangs Football Hall of Fame.

St. John, who attended Western from 1991 to 1994, was a team captain of the Mustangs’ storied 1994 Vanier Cup Championship team. He was named an OUA all-star in 1994 and was a second round draft pick of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in 1995. Jude played 14 CFL seasons (11 in Toronto) and 209 CFL games. He was named an East Division All-Star three times for the Boatmen (2001, 2005-2006) and was the starting left guard for the club’s 15th Grey Cup championship in 2004.

Joining Jude in this year’s class will be builder and former player Jack Cowin, former players Paul Hauch, Jude St. John, Claude Riopelle and Jamie Taras, builder and former equipment manager Clay Warner, and the 1971 Western Mustangs Vanier Cup team.

The Wall of Champions Induction Dinner will take place the evening of Friday April 16, 2010, at the Great Hall at The University of Western Ontario. The Wall of Champions Awards Dinner was founded in 2004 to recognize individuals who have made significant contribution to Mustangs Football. Individual tickets are $150 per person, while a table of 10 is $1,500. Tickets and tables can be ordered by online beginning later this week via www.westernmustangs.ca.
