HAMILTON -- The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced today that Dan LeFevour has been diagnosed with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee and will miss the remainder of the 2014 season.

He will undergo surgery in the coming weeks.

LeFevour suffered the injury in the fourth quarter of Saturday's game against the Calgary Stampeders. This season, LeFevour threw for 1,670 yards and four touchdowns while rushing for 314 yards and four rushing majors.

"I'm disappointed for Dan, who was playing at a very high level for us this year," said Ticats head coach Kent Austin.

"He is a man of great character and a tremendous competitor with a tireless work ethic, so we know he'll return stronger than ever after finishing his rehabilitation," said Ticats head coach Kent Austin.

This is such a tough break for Dan who was developing well as the starter in the absence of Collaros. Not ideal for the team either who have again been hit by the injury bug early this year. Here's hoping that Masoli can step up or we see if McGee can get the job done until Zach returns.

Really tough break for LeFevour and the entire Ticat squad. Just as they were about to break thru that losing streak and maybe even take over the lead of the Eastern Division in a few weeks from now. Ticat fans should hold hope and faith that the team can manage something to get it going again
