EDMONTON -- The Edmonton Eskimo Football Club and Corus Entertainment jointly announce today a new multi-year agreement that will see Eskimo games carried on 630 CHED through the 2012 CFL season. 630 CHED has been the broadcast voice of the Eskimos since 1994.

Canadian Football Hall of Fame broadcaster Bryan Hall announced today that the 2009 season will be his final year as voice of the Eskimos. Hall has covered the team for 55 of the club’s 60 seasons, and has been calling the action of Eskimo games since 1965.

Corus Vice President/General Manager Doug Rutherford says, “This is an exciting day for Corus Radio and 630 CHED. We’re thrilled to continue our relationship with the Edmonton Eskimos, and that Hallsy will be back for the upcoming season while we work together on successful transition in the play-by-play booth.”

Edmonton Eskimo President and CEO Rick LeLacheur says, “This new agreement ensures that Eskimo football will be on 630 CHED until 2012, which marks the 100th anniversary of the Grey Cup. For the past 15 years, 630 CHED has played a key role in our success and we’re extremely pleased to continue our relationship.”
