2014 Draft: 5th Overall Pick - David Foucault
Montreal Carabins Staff

TORONTO -- The Draft’s third-ranked prospect has gone fifth overall.  The hulking lineman was selected in the first round of the 2014 CFL Draft by the Montreal Alouettes after the Als traded picks with Ottawa.

Over the last four years with the Université de Montréal Carabins, Foucault accumulated a career record of 25-10 during the season, which led to four straight RSEQ playoff appearances, and two RSEQ finals.

Last season, the 6-7 320 lbs. lineman anchored the offensive line and helped his team average 6.0 rushing yards per carry, good enough for eighth overall in the CIS.

The LaSalle, QC native was rewarded with his great play by playing in the 2013 CIS East-West Bowl game last season.

Foucault sat behind just McGill’s Laurent Duvernay-Tardif (1) on the CFL Scouting Bureau Ranking released in April.

Lavertu was the projected first overall pick in’s Mock Draft and his stock climbed even higher after Duvernay-Tardif was drafted by the NFL’s Kansas City Chiefs.

WHY do I have to log in again when I am already logged in?!! Need to be more user friendly here please! @ar Foucault is a good selection - when he shows up which might not be immediately if he manages a contract south of the border. That's OK if the team can afford to wait.
