The four players were chosen by a panel of judges that includes former Canadian Football League players Matt Dunigan and Duane Forde, now of TSN, and Pierre Vercheval of RDS.

For the first time this season, Montreal Alouettes slotback SJ Green earns Offensive Player of the Week honours. Green hauled 10 passes for 168 receiving yards and one touchdown, en-route to helping the Als down the Tiger-Cats 31-29 on Thursday night.

Through eight games this season, Green leads the CFL in receiving yards with 737 and is on pace to register a career-high 1,658 yards.

The defensive player of the week is Calgary Stampeders defensive lineman Charleston Hughes. The fifth-year veteran was absolutely dominant on Saturday afternoon, collecting a pair of sacks, two forced fumbles, one interception and one tackle, in Calgary's 17-10 win over the Roughriders at Mosaic Stadium.

Hughes' performance vaulted him to the top of Calgary's sacks leaders list with four on the season.

For the third time this season, Hamilton kick returner Chris Williams is the Special Teams Player of the Week. Williams dazzled fans yet again on Thursday night, returning two punts for 76 yards, including a 70-yard return for a touchdown in the early in the second quarter.

Williams’ touchdown tied him with Henry 'Gizmo' Williams, Bashir Levingston and Keith Stokes for the most kick returns for a touchdown in a CFL season with five.

Finally, the Canadian Player of the Week is Calgary running back Jon Cornish.

Cornish put together another fine performance on the ground, registering 159 rushing yards on a whopping 24 carries to lead the Stampeders to their fourth win of the year.

The New Westminster, B.C native was relied upon for the entire game on a windy day at Mosaic Stadium that increased the importance of an effective ground game.

I-M-O all 3 picks are deserving of their rewards.

Calgary needs to be aware JC Sherritt will be taking a run at the DEF PLAYER OF THE WEEK award. Speaking as a STAMPS fan I think he (Sherritt) will be coming to our house and have a huge game.

Can't wait 'til kick off. I have tickets, just a matter if I can leave my west coast job (contract) soon enough!!!
