More movement: Esks release TJ Hill | | Official Site of the Canadian Football League Staff

EDMONTON -- New Eskimos head coach Chris Jones continued to revamp his roster on Tuesday, as the team announced the release of veteran linebacker TJ Hill.
Hill originally signed as a free agent on July 21, 2009.  In five seasons with the Green and Gold, he recorded 389 defensive tackles, 17 special teams tackles, six quarterback sacks and 11 interceptions.

“TJ Hill has been a first-class professional and a leader in the locker room. We wish him well in his future endeavours," said Eskimos General Manager Ed Hervey via the team's official Twitter account.

Last season saw Hill register a career high in tackles with 94. He also collected one sack and one interception. Prior to joining the Esks, Hill spent two seasons with the Alouettes.

Not shocking at all with Curran, Samuels play last year and the singing of Watkins which moves either Grymes or Burnett to the HB from the CB position. Young or Thompson have to make the jump from HB to the Sam LB and challenge Samuels for the position in camp. All three are bigger than Hill. At 34 Hill might have a season or two left, but he definitely lost a step last year. With the attacking style Coach Jones will want for the Esks this season speed and size will matter. With JC healthy again it is now his defense to lead.

Wow, there goes the Eskies leader on defense. Hill has always been an underrated player with much production to show for it. There's always change on each team but I would disagree with this one. Big lost for the Eskies. RIDER NATION Hill is free on the market.....

It seems a bit surprising, but sometimes there's a story behind the story!

Yes, 2007. Hill played 2008 in Mtl, before signing as an FA in 2009. 2008 Jones was the DC of the Stamps.
