Scott Flory, the CFL's outstanding lineman in 2008, has signed a new contract for two years plus an option year with the Montreal Alouettes

The 10-year veteran guard from Regina has spent his entire career with Montreal. He is a six-time all-star who was nominated three times for the league's outstanding lineman award before finally winning it this year.

"I'm very proud of what we accomplished last season," Flory said in a statement Wednesday. "I'm very excited to continue building on what we started.

"The team's spirit is at its best, the players are motivated and everyone is pulling in the same direction."

The Alouette offensive line allowed only 22 sacks this season compared to 68 in 2007. Montreal played in the Grey Cup at Olympic Stadium game but lost to Calgary.

In the past two weeks the Alouettes have signed veterans Bryan Chiu, Anwar Stewart, Ben Cahoon and Davis Sanchez.

Their top free agent still unsigned is quarterback and CFL outstanding player Anthony Calvillo, who expects to sign next month if his wife is deemed cancer-free by doctors after a battle with B-cell lymphoma in her abdomen.
